Why Butter Cookies
Founded by Alison Kuo in Los Angeles in 2020.
Chef Alison's love for butter cookies is rooted in the familiar Taiwanese wedding gift boxes, a beloved tradition.
After training in French pastry and working in iconic pâtisseries and Michelin-starred kitchens, she kept returning to something much simpler: the classic butter cookie.
It was everywhere, but rarely taken seriously.
SALT began with the idea that something understated deserves just as much attention as something elaborate.
Our Approach
With inspiration drawn from Asian traditions, we explore familiar flavors through a refined lens.
Each recipe is carefully balanced, tested, and revisited over time before becoming part of our intentionally curated collection.
